White Cat Corn – Gourmet Popcorn

Big, fluffy popcorn with a very good story.

White Cat Corn began in 1977, when gentleman farmer Paul returned to his hometown of Hamburg, Illinois, determined to find the perfect popcorn. After experimenting with seeds, soil, and growing conditions, he found the kernel he was looking for, planted his 200-acre farm, and White Cat Corn was born.

Decades later, it's still grown in the Midwest and loved for the simple thing that started it all: big, fluffy, delicious popcorn.

So why White Cat Corn?

When Paul returned to Hamburg, he brought along his near-deaf cat, Chelsea Williams. Chelsea preferred roaming the farm to staying indoors, and while her hearing impairment didn't exactly make her an accomplished mouser, apparently nobody told Chelsea that.

Each day, she proudly brought Paul a corn cob and left it on the front porch as evidence of another successful hunt.

Was she a fearsome predator? Perhaps not.

Did she earn herself a permanent place in White Cat Corn history—and on every bag?

Absolutely.

How to Pop

Add approximately 1 tablespoon of oil and ¼ cup of White Cat Corn kernels to a large, heavy saucepan.

Cover and cook over medium-high heat, shaking the pan frequently to help prevent burning and allow steam to escape.

When the popping slows, remove from heat. Season however you like and enjoy.
